The Tales of Tiffany Nicole

Healthy habits and physical fitness are concepts that must be introduced at a young age. Kids love to play and learn. This book started as a way to merge my love for teaching and fitness, with health and wellness. Growing up in the performing arts, I've always loved a good story. Little did I know, that even at age 3, these stories were teaching me lifelong lessons. I now see the importance of children being active and knowledgeable about food choices and how that plays a role in young adult and adulthood.

Holistic health is not a difficult concept. Good eating habits, physical activity and a healthy mind, can be taught to anyone. Why not start young? The Fitness is Fun series is an all encompassing outlet that will be used to teach multiple concepts of health and wellness. Tiffany Nicole, will take all readers, parent and child alike, through a fun and active journey as she tackles her first day of summer vacation. This book allows the entire family to get involved and create new, healthy memories.  Healthy parents equal healthy children. Lets read and move!

The Evolution of Fit_Curlgirl

My name is Shavonne Munir and I am a Health and Wellness professional. I have a B.S in Kinesiology from the Pennsylvania State University and Masters in Health and Wellness/alternative Medicine from Union Institute and University. I also hold a personal training cert from ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and an aquatic fitness cert from AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association). I am currently a Fitness and Recreation Manager at the Philadelphia Salvation Army Kroc center, a professional dancer of over 25 years, an awesome wife and mom of an active 5 year old!

Initially, my interest in physical activity stopped at the world of dance…until that wasn’t enough. I realized that I wasn’t taking care of my instrument in a way that allowed me to be my best! I was not giving 100%, but was expecting that from my clients. How can I expect them to put trust in me to change their life when I was not fully investing in my own.

Having an active lifestyle has changed my life and wellness perspective. My stress level has lowered, my energy has grown and my mental clarity is better than ever! I have found it to be a passion to bring others with me! Finding creative ways, like at virtual workouts and continuing to offer personal training, especially during a world health crisis, is a no brainer. Turning lemons (COVID-19) into lemonade, the Sweat Set was born!
